BackseatAI, Inc. is a Delaware-registered company building autonomous product-management software. We provide tools that integrate with third-party services like GitHub, Jira, Slack, and Confluence to automate planning and coordination tasks.

2. What We Collect

a. Information you provide directly

• Name, email address, and organization details when you sign up.
• Information you choose to share in feedback or support requests.
• Configuration data (workspace name, team size, selected integrations).

b. Connected-service data

When you link BackseatAI to external services (e.g., GitHub or Jira), we request read-only OAuth access to the minimum scopes required for functionality. We never store raw source code or credentials; we process metadata (issue titles, commit messages, pull-request summaries, and team activity metrics).

c. Automatic analytics

We collect limited technical data such as:

• Browser type, device, operating system
• IP address (for fraud and abuse prevention)
• Page views and interaction events (via privacy-respecting analytics like Plausible/PostHog, without cookies or tracking ads)

3. How We Use the Data

We use your data to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the BackseatAI Service
• Authenticate your access and maintain account security
• Generate analytics and insights to enhance performance
• Communicate product updates or support messages
• Conduct early-access testing and receive feedback

We do not sell personal information or share it with advertisers.

4. Beta and Early-Access Notice

BackseatAI is currently in early access (beta).

• No payment data is collected during this phase.
• Feedback and telemetry may be analyzed to improve stability and features.
• Because the product evolves rapidly, specific integrations or permissions may change over time — you'll always be notified before new data types are accessed.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

• We retain user data only as long as necessary to operate the Service.
• You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing privacy@backseat.cloud.
• Once deleted, we may retain anonymized analytics for statistical purposes.

6. Data Security

• All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256).
• OAuth tokens are stored securely and rotated regularly.
• Access to user data is strictly limited to authorized personnel for debugging and support.
• We conduct periodic security reviews and penetration tests before major releases.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (e.g., EU / UK / California), you have rights to:

• Access, correct, or delete your data
• Restrict or object to processing
• Export data in a portable format
• File a complaint with a supervisory authority

8. Cookies and Tracking

We currently do not use advertising cookies. Session cookies may be used only to keep you logged in securely. You can disable cookies in your browser; some features may stop working.

9. Third-Party Services

BackseatAI integrates with and depends on trusted infrastructure providers such as:

• AWS / Google Cloud for hosting
• GitHub, Jira, Slack, and Confluence for data connections

Each provider maintains its own privacy policy; BackseatAI never extends access beyond the scopes you authorize.

10. Children's Privacy

BackseatAI is not directed at individuals under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the product evolves. The "Last Updated" date will always reflect the most recent version. Significant changes will be announced via email or within the app.
